Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris – Funk Waves Bounce Vol. 2 – 2 Day Countdown

We are less than two days away from Calvin Harris releasing his upcoming single featuring Dua Lipa & Young Thug in what is anticipated to be another classic album. This has been long awaited, the last Calvin Harris full studio-album was delivered nearly five years ago on June 30th, 2017, Funk Wavs Bounces Vol. 1. For years we assumed there was going to be a Vol. 2, but one of the most beloved DJ’s/Music Producers has made us wait way longer than any of us anticipated.

The latest solo projects we got from Calvin Harris were from his alter ego “Love Regenerator” which is not typical Calvin Harris music. It is more of a tech/acid house vibe and not exactly what I am expecting this Friday. Still absolutely slaps though. Can definitely get a club crazy, and my friends definitely judge me while I bump it and dance alone.

What I’m expecting this Friday: an absolute slow jam that will show up on most playlists of the summer. You know, easy music to dance to with a Hawaiian shirt on or passing time with the current WFH lifestyle. If the name lives up to the previous project, then I’m more excited for the features other than Dua Lipa.

Anywhere between 10 to 12 songs we can be sure there will be no throwaways. Some of the features from the last album included Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, Big Sean, Migos, Schoolboy Q, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Future, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Young Thug, and the list goes on and on. We all know the squeeze this guy has on the industry, as rappers would love to work with them to expand their genre and put themselves in mainstream radio. Or in 2022 get your song viral on TikTok or Instagram Reels.

To get you guys a little excited and warmed up for this Friday’s release date I attached a Spotify playlist today’s just for some of our favorite Calvin Harris records from the past. Cheers to the upcoming three day weekend.
