Eminem’s “Houdini” Brought Me Back to The Classics

Eminem has once again proven his enduring influence in the music industry. This recent single shows his timeless appeal, with an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Eminem’s albums and singles reappearing on the billboard rankings reminds fans his old school albums have aged well. It’s amazing how fans have stayed loyal, and the younger generation has explored the classics.

Key Metrics and Statistics

Eminem’s debut, The Slim Shady LP, soared to the number two position and introduced the hit single My Name Is. By 2000, The Marshall Mathers LP debuted at number one and became the fastest-selling album by a solo artist at that time. His track Lose Yourself from the movie 8 Mile had a 12-week reign at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Eminem’s chart success includes five number-one hits and an impressive 22 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, totaling 96 charting songs. Even out of his prime, he delivered hits Love the Way You Lie and The Monster, both featuring Rihanna. I know that’s not what true fans are listening to but it’s his second prime, so to speak.

The Death of Slim Shady

With fans having a pretty positive reception to his recent single, this new album is stirring up considerable excitement. This was a throwback-type of song from Eminem that we have not heard in years. As anticipation builds for his final album, The Death Of Slim Shady, the one thing we could all expect is: controversy. Eminem’s story is not only about the records he’s broken, but the amount of controversy he has stirred. After revisiting all of these instances from the past, I am hoping he saved his best tricks for last.
