The Dodgers are 2024 World Series Champions, which means the MLB offseason is upon us with perhaps one of the most anticipated free agency for one player in years: Juan Soto. The 26-year-old superstar is an unrestricted free agent after his one guaranteed year with the Yankees; they traded for him almost a year ago. Soto has made it known that all 30 teams will have the same opportunity to sign him, highest bidder wins.
Juan Soto on if the Yankees have an advantage in his free agency"

A very generous thing for Soto to say, and a smart one. But, with respect to Mr. Soto, we all know it’s a flat-out lie. As it stands it feels like he is likely to stay in New York. Which franchise he will be playing for is dependent on who you ask.
New York Yankees
ODDS TO SIGN: -225
In Soto’s one year with the Bombers, he played alongside the AL MVP, Aaron Judge, while having a career year of his own. The Yankees made a run to the World Series, where their sloppy play and questionable bullpen management came back to bite them. It feels like the Yankees have a leg up in the Soto sweepstakes, but they also have a lot of free agency questions outside of just Soto.
New York Mets
ODDS TO SIGN: +380
Mets fans will tell you they have had Soto locked down for months, it was just a waiting game for them. A bit presumptuous I’d say, but owner Steve Cohen has a lot of free money to play with this offseason. After an unexpected run to the NLCS, the Mets are expected to be big spenders, whether that means signing Soto or someone else.
Dodgers: +650
Would be an unmitigated disaster for MLB and its fans. Durant-to-Warriors level nightmare.
The rest of these odds are interesting, but most likely inconsequential:
Blue Jays: +1500 (no shot he moves to Canada)
Cubs: +1500 (Fun in theory but just not realistic)
Giants: +1800 (Think he is over California)
Red Sox: +1800 (Front office doesn’t have the mettle)
Nationals: +2500 (Cute in theory but fiscally unrealistic)
Mariners: +2500 (haha)
Padres: +2500 (Would be biggest fleece of the century)
May the odds ever be in your favor, or something like that.
