Rangers 10 Game Point

The New York Rangers Continue Winning Streak: Extend Point Streak to 10 Games

There’s an electric energy that’s been reverberating around the Madison Square Garden recently. The cause? The New York Rangers. The team has been on an impressive winning streak, extending their point streak to an astounding ten games.

This has been largely due to the remarkable performances of Alexis Lafreniere, contributions from the usual suspects Armeti Panarin, Chris Kreider & goaltenders Jonathan Quick and Louis Domingue playing big time in Igor Shesterkin’s absence.

Today, we’ll take a deep dive into the Rangers’ recent comeback against the Blue Jackets bringing you up to speed where the Rangers stand in the Eastern Conference.

Alexis Lafreniere – The Rising Star

Alexis Lafreniere, the young and talented forward of the New York Rangers, has been a driving force behind the team’s recent successes. Finally, as many Ranger fans have been waiting for his breakout since being drafted #1 overall in the 2020 NHL Draft.

His exceptional performances have not been restricted to just a few games but have been consistently delivered throughout the team’s ten-game point streak.

Lafreniere’s brilliance in the game against Columbus Blue Jackets, where he scored two vital goals in regulation play and the only goal in for the Rangers in a shoot out. An overall testament to his talent and resilience when many people wrote him off. Lafreniere’s consistency and ability to deliver under pressure has finally been brought out under coach Peter Laviolette.

The Reliable Goaltending

Jonathan Quick – The Smart Off-Season Signing

When it comes to goalkeeping, Jonathan Quick has been nothing short of exceptional. Quick’s 25 saves against the Blue Jackets were vital in securing the Rangers’ victory. Quick’s performance in the tiebreaker was particularly impressive, where he denied attempts from Johnny Gaudreau, Patrik Laine, and Alexandre Texier, ensuring a Rangers victory. Quick’s presence in the goal has given the team the confidence to play their natural game, safe in the knowledge that their goal is in safe hands.

Louis Domingue – An Along Awaited Victory

Despite not being the first-choice goalkeeper and playing all of last season for the AHL Hartford Wolfpack, Louis Domingue’s contribution to the team has been significant.

They brought him up and he earned his first victory in the regular season since January 2022. A feel good story comes with the streak.

Domingue’s reliability as a backup to Jonathan Quick has given the Rangers the confidence to rotate their goalkeepers, ensuring that they always have a fresh and ready keeper in the goal. Domingue’s performances have shown that he is more than capable of stepping up when called upon, and his importance to the team can’t be understated.

Artemi Panarin – More Than a Playmaker

Artemi Panarin’s contribution to the Rangers’ success is flat out historic. Panarin’s two assists in the game against the Blue Jackets were critical in securing the Rangers’ victory.

His performances have seen him extend his personal point streak to a career-high 14 games, an achievement that has seen him equaled the long-standing team record set by Rod Gilbert in the 1972-73 season. Panarin’s ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates has been a key factor in the Rangers’ impressive run of form.

Chris Kreider – The Heart & Soul

Chris Kreider’s reputation as a prolific goalscorer has only been enhanced during the Rangers’ impressive run. Kreider’s 10th goal of the season against the Blue Jackets was crucial in securing a point for the Rangers. His ability to find the back of the net consistently has made him the heart and soul of the team.

The Rangers’ Impressive Run

The New York Rangers’ ten-game point streak is a reflection of the team’s quality and depth. The team’s performances during this run have seen them rise to the top of the Metropolitan Division of the NHL.

The Rangers’ ability to deliver from behind is almost leaving fans with faulty expectations as they are expected to win. This run of form has seen them become one of the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference, even though as a team they could improve overall +/- in the 2nd period.

The Atmosphere at Madison Square Garden

It’s beautiful. My favorite place on the planet. The atmosphere at Madison Square Garden during the Rangers’ games has been electric. No matter what, even leaving the fans with a bad taste in their mouths last season, they’ll always come fill the seats.

The fans have been treated to some exceptional hockey, and it is nice to see it in New York after their impressive winning streak on the road earlier in the season.

The energy and passion of the fans have created an atmosphere that has motivated the Rangers to perform at their best. Now if the Knicks could get on a roll then something special can really start to brew.

A Week Break

The New York Rangers’ ten-game point streak can be credited to the quality and depth of their lineup.

Now, the Rangers have until Saturday to prepare to play at home against the Devils before taking a 3-game road trip. The Devils, whom eliminated them in the first round of the playoffs last year should have the Rangers flying out of the gate right from the opening face off. We will have to wait and see.

As the season progresses, the Rangers will be hoping to maintain their impressive form and continue their quest to maintain the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. While waiting for the return of Igor, Adam Fox and Filip Chytil, the Rangers are looking to continue their stride as they enter mid-season form.
